Test engineers for ProTelevision Technologies A/S
ProTelevision Technologies is looking for test engineers in order to increase capacity of the TEST group. The TEST group is responsible for release testing new product developments. The products are modulators and repeaters for professional digital terrestrial television broadcasting. A variety of modulation standards are supported, accommodating needs from all over the world.
The job
The products - DUT's - are based on a very broad range of various engineering disciplines, and contain large amounts of software/firmware, high speed digital hardware and signal processing, as well as RF and IP technology.
Many different data, signal and control interfaces, combined with a very high number of user settings and application scenarios make the products very challenging - also from a testing perspective.
The testing activities include verification of software and hardware defined functionality as well as verification of the accuracy of electrical parameters.
You will be dealing with the following main issues:
- Test specification
- Test instrumentation
- Test automation
- Test execution
- Reporting of test results
Tools: NI LabWindows, Testopia, Eclipse
Software languages: C, Java, XML
Digital television standards: DVB-T/H, ATSC, MediaFLO and others.
You can expect a very close dialog directly with our development staff, as well as sales and marketing.
We expect you to match a good deal of the following:
- have a natural enthusiasm and drive for testing and perfection
- have more than 2 years professional experience with test
- be familiar with general purpose electronic test equipment incl. remote control
- knowledge of or experience with TV/Radio broadcasting equipment
- having good programming experience, preferably: C, Java, XML
- having good knowledge of TCP/IP networking, SNMP, SCPI
- have a good analytical and systematical way of working
- Interest in understanding the product and the entire application
- enjoy the combination of teamwork and individual work
- have a degree in electronic engineering or similar background

ProTelevision has a strong focus on R&D and the building up of internal knowledge. DVB-T/H is today the application field of this knowledge – there exist an ever growing knowledge base and expertise within ProTelevision that potentially can be applied to any field of digital communication. There are 27 engineers in the R&D team of PTT – with an average ancienity of 9 years. The main disciplines of the R&D team are: RF-design (HW), digital signal processing (HW+SW+VHDL), embedded SW (real time linux kernel), ASIC design and algorithm development. ProTelevision is a DVB member – the work within the DVB project organization is followed closely (PTT was actively involved in the creation of the DVB-RCT and DVB-H standard). PTT takes great pride in designing every part of the products in-house – every single algorithm, functional block or hardware design in all the products are developed entirely by the existing PTT R&D team. As the products are based on FPGA’s and PTT’s own ASIC, this approach caters for superior customer support with short turn round time for problem solving/customer specific design changes (100% in-house knowledge of the entire design + in-field update capability of the products).Established in 1963 as Philips TV test equipment, ProTelevision has a well established position on the market of the TV broadcasters and the TV studios.
